dc.description.abstract The percentage of agile practices is booming. Most of the old software development companies are switching to agile development methods and Startups are preferring agile methodologies from scratch. The purpose of this thesis is to study different agile methodologies (e.g. Scrum, Extreme Programming etc.) in software development and find the best one. Each of the agile methodologies have its own planning, practices, pros and cons. The goal of this thesis is to gain knowledge about all the facts and understand agile software development environment. We will also see the impact of adopting agile methodology when migrating from legacy methods. We will be analyzing most popular agile methods that will be explained and compared with each other in terms of quality and impact on software development. This thesis will present the various reasons and benefits of agile practices and demonstrates the top software development methods which are utilized by software companies. en
