dc.description.abstract This paper examines the definition and history of income inequality and it’s observable effects on public health with an emphasis on life expectancy. We will also examine the relationship between income inequality and various measures of standard of living. By looking at income distribution using different measures over time, an examination can be made of the effects on well-being as measured by consumption, life expectancy and other measures of public health. en
